Loving the Children Who Grew Up Without It

Two weeks ago I went to Bryan/College Station, Texas and I spoke at two different places; I spoke at the Texas Right To Life highschool retreat, and at St Theresas Catholic Church for a group of about 200 highschool students as well.

I spent the weekend with my best friend, Abby Johnson. We worked on my talk alot. I learned how to put someone/anyone in my birth mothers shoes when she was 13….what she was going through….how she wasn’t informed….and how her mother thought she was doing the best thing for her by taking her to get an abortion.

I learned how important our community and our family is in how we respond to certain situations. For example, a child that has the support of her family, parents that talked to him/her about their actions and possible consequences of their actions, parents that told the child how much they were loved and cherished and made perfectly in the Image of God is more likely to see the preciousness of life and/or respect themselves at a young age to not let another child of the opposite sex get involved with them in a way only a spouse should be. Does that make sense? I feel like I’m rambling on….

It is sad to me that some children do not have that support system, do not have a family that shows them love and guidelines for their life to protect them from consequences and pain/painful decisions (such as an unexpected pregnancy/pain from an intimate relationship outside of marriage/abortion/getting involved in the abortion business).

I hope to send a message of love to those who did and didn’t have the same support system/boundaries and sense of love from my family and community. I hope that you will join with me in praying for these children and that somehow someone will reach out to them in love and help them feel how precious they are in the eyes of their Creator and everyone around them!
