The SON my Dad never had- In Honor of Warren Dale Culwell Jr (my Dad)

This past weekend I shared my story at the Hope For Life Conference in Dallas, TX. The conference was filled with men and women who help in saving so many babies lives…many of these men and women have been affected by abortion and use their own stories to help others who have been affected by abortion or who are considering abortion.

One woman who I met really stuck out to me…I will never forget this experience…She said she had had an abortion where she found out she was pregnant with twins on the abortion table. She went through with the abortion and was affected by guilt for years. Later after forgiving herself and healing from her abortions, she started an organization called A Cry Without A Voice which provides healing for women who have had abortions. Its a support group and a WONDERFUL resource. This woman hugged me and cried as she told me her story. I was able to tell her that her babies forgive her, as she knew, and we hugged for a long time.

One thing that A Cry Without A Voice does is they collect baby shoes. Women and men who’ve aborted their children can name their child and attach a tag with the child’s name, year they were aborted and some words they wish to say to their child. She gave me that option…to name my twin who was aborted in 1988 and write some words I wanted to say to him/her. She told me to pray about it and ask God to reveal to me whether my twin was a girl or boy and what I want to say to him/her.

I always had a gut feeling I was missing a brother. I’ve had a longing to have a brother for a long time…I felt like that part of my life was missing. I feel that God may have given me a twin brother…I named him Warren Dale Culwell 3 (the third) in honor of the son my Dad never had…He would have named his son this (since my dad is Warren Dale CulwellJr) and in honor of my Grandaddy (Warren Dale Culwell Sr) who I know would be there in the front row when I speak (I really wish he was!!)

I wrote “I will speak up in honor of you” on the tag under my twin’s name.

I wanted to share this with you, as this is a very big step in God’s story that he has written for me…There is HEALING through Christ and through help of caring organizations such as A Cry Without A Voice for post-abortive men and women. And men and women who have been affected by abortion-don’t be afraid to speak up- the voice of you and your CHILD can be heard and we want to hear it!!!
